Embracing My Unique Obsession: Barbie Dolls and the World of Plaganology

Plaganology is like being part of a secret society, and I love it here.

Barbie Fashionistas

Ever since I was a little fashionista, Barbie has been my ride-or-die doll (Teen Nikki was my BFF). From her lavish lifestyle to her empowering career moves, she embodies everything I aspired to be. And let's not forget about the fashions (shout out to Fashion Avenue). Top tier! Barbie teaches us that we can be anything we set our minds to, and I'm so here for that message.

Barbie dolls have played a significant role in shaping identities and sparking conversations around inclusivity and diversity. Over the years, the Barbie brand has evolved to reflect a more inclusive range of body types, skin tones, and hair textures. By embracing these changes, Barbie Fashionista dolls have become powerful tools for promoting self-acceptance, breaking societal stereotypes, and encouraging children to embrace their unique identities.

At this moment, I’m sure you’re wondering what is this plaganology word I keep mentioning, right? Well, historically, the word, "pláganós" is Greek (meaning doll), and plaganology is the study and appreciation of dolls and their impact on society. It explores the historical, cultural, and artistic significance of dolls across various eras and regions, shedding light on their influence on fashion, self-expression, and even gender roles. Plaganologists dive deep into the nuances of doll collecting, preservation, and the evolution of doll culture with a passion that is both inspiring and captivating. It's like being part of a secret society, and it's lit. I love it here.

Speaking of shaping identities, my obsession with dolls has inspired me to launch my very own brand, NuMannequin Co. We’re creating inclusive mannequin heads that reflect the beauty of diverse cultures. We're all about celebrating and uplifting Afrocentric beauty and melanated skin tones, embracing the magic of diversity. We're breaking those outdated molds and demolishing them with our fierce Nummie mannequin heads. We're here to make sure everyone feels seen and celebrated. Representation matters, and I'm proud to be a part of a movement that embraces and empowers all shades of beauty.  We’re slaying those beauty standards together!

My Barbie obsession isn't just a fling, it's a full-blown love affair. Through plaganology, I discovered the power of dolls in shaping identities. NuMannequin Co. is my way of championing inclusivity and empowering everyone to embrace their unique beauty. With the upcoming Barbie movie premiere, we'll be reminded of the magic Barbie brings to our lives. I'll be there, fully embracing my inner Barbie girl, and enjoying every moment of the premiere. So, let's slay this Barbie movie premiere because we are the ultimate Barbie girls, living in a Barbie world.

Stay fierce, fabulous, and unapologetically you!
